Hello, I'm investigating a complete refresh of our skill system, with an extensive set of new skills to learn. Our current skill system is very powerful, but it is woefully underutilised. I'd like to compile a list of skill ideas here, in this thread, once and for all.

After we've came up with a decent number of them, I'll start implementing them! If you have any suggestions for skills, please post them here.

A word about the capability of skills:
- Skills can add and/or remove amounts from a player's attributes (attack, defense, hp, agility, speed, accuracy, crit strike, crit resist, income/hr, exp/hr, turns/hr, etc.).
- Skills can also perform an action immediately, upon being cast (e.g. the purify skill sets all negative skills on an account to expire within a couple of minutes, and the insight skill unlocks hidden attack log entries).
- Skills can also be pa**ive, having an effect over a long duration, which is useful for getting the full benefit from turns/hr, etc.
- Skills can change the behaviour of game features when active (for instance, you can't attack accounts with the etherium skill active, and players with the honour skill active can't lose experience during incoming attacks).

With this in mind, you can see that they're quite durable, and all it takes is some imagination. I'd greatly appreciate a few pairs of fresh eyes taking a look at this situation, and providing feedback.

Thank you in advance,
Cyberkilla

N.B. I'm quite serious about implementing the new skills. It has risen into the top 5 on my current list of priorities with the game.

I think you should have 2 sets of skills: Shared and then character (type) skills.

Shared skills will be shared by everyone.

Cla** skills will be designated for your character. Though then I guess you would have to create backgrounds for the characters.

If you need someone to create stories I am great with stories.

I will create a list sometime within this week or next have a lot on my plate with school and moving to a new city.

Thanks for the reply (smiley)

Yes, we do have support for race-specific skills, but yet again, this feature is completely unused at the moment. I have some rough ideas about the races; I'll make another thread about that tonight, if I remember (smiley)

I think for now what we have maybe need to be bumped up a lot to sorta match the power of our players.

The skills that hurt players need to be bumped up and the skills we buff up with need a major improvement.

Until you release the new skills the current ones should be powerful enough to at least waste the turns to put on to make any difference against a player we cast on.

Well if you make that thread about the races I can make better suggestions on skills.
