My understanding was that they blindly tracked server time, but that was when I used UTC for server. It may be the case that it all shifts by an hour... Been a while since I looked.


If I remember rightly from when I used to do the power hour religiously, it happens at 5pm UTC. Used to be the same as server time but it'll be different now.

Are website push notifications a thing? Wouldn't mind an alert when powerhour is about to start.

Yeah, the timezones thing may be a problem since we moved server time. I a**umed it would just follow local server time but apparently not.

As discussed back when Caesar was a lad. fixed time favors only those that can use it in that timezone

if memory serves, the nicest solution was keeping the power hour on the day it is, but every cycle it starts a hour or two earlier. so if its 5 UTC the next cycle, its 4 (or 3) UTC the cycle after

Are you suggesting the time rotate week by week, eventually hitting every hour of the day? That would keep things consistent and fair for the many different time zones we all have. Or rotate it by four hours every week. That would make it feasible for most people to take advantage pretty much every week.

Start it at 12pm server time, then 1600, 2000, 0000, 0400, 0800, 1200 and on and on.
