I will use this thread to track the progress on the Automated Events feature, which will be released this week. I had thought that we already had a thread about this, but I can't find it, at a glance.

  • Implement automated events system.
    • Create event scheduler to manage activation/deactivation of events.
      • Implement helper cla** to pa*** crontab-style patterns.
    • Create database schema for automated events.
  • Implement front-end pages and UI elements.
    • Add Game Event icons to header, next to raiding icon.
    • Add new Game Events page under Community.
    • Draw icons for each of the new game events.
  • Implement specific automated events, and their code hooks.
    • Thursday Thieves
    • Power Hour (double exp)
    • Special bonus maps with limited edition items & badges.
      • (more info later, not finalised)
    • Mega-jackpot on lottery
    • Mega-jackpot on raffles
    • Bank theft enablement.
    • Relic Mode (relic items appear via global drops, have special effects).
    • Double turns
    • Unlimited bank deposits
    • Reduced attack ranges (may not be such a good idea?)
    • Reduced attack timeouts (reduced by x hrs).
    • Reduced raiding timeouts (reduced by x hrs).
    • Cheap raid forming
    • Mega link clicks (25-150 exp per click, and badge to be earned)
    • Special random skill buffs on certain players.
Additional event ideas are welcomed! It should be possible to automate almost anything using this system, from unlocking Christmas content, to casting skills, sending messages, spawning mobs, etc.

Edit: I will be setting up the events marked in green for this week. The first two start tomorrow.

If anyone has any feedback about the automated events, or ideas for new ones, please post it in this thread. I'm listening to all suggestions.

N.B. The icons still aren't finished, which is why they all have the same icon. That'll be resolved shortly, though it's the least of my concerns (smiley)

This should just be for NPC Boss Raids until you get the raiding system fixed. Id hate for our guild and other guilds to lose exp for a raid they had no control over. The smaller guilds with the players in them will suffer with this going on because we cant defend ourselves against the top 2 guilds in the game.

We could fairly easily implement a 40% "attack range" for raiding, based on the guild power. Would that solve some of the issues?

Im not sure how that would affect things - atm the problem is we dont have a lot of new players to populate guilds to make it worth while. I dont want to go into it here but guild raiding has always been a issue. It needs to be restructured to make it fair for both guilds in the raid.

Like it was brought up in past if a raid is created it should not be able to be cancelled - Both guilds should have to have players join not make it an automatic defending guild have everyone join blah blah blah lol anyways......
