Basically, time, and the lack of it.

When I say I'm busy, I'm not saying I'm busy coding the game. If I were, we wouldn't be having this conversation. It is precisely because I haven't had enough time lately that it is taking so long.

However, two years is a bit of an exaggeration.

I have neither lost enthusiasm nor inspiration. I know what needs to be done, and I'm attempting to do it, but it takes time. The quest editor is a time sinkhole, and when it's released, it won't initially be apparent where the time was spent, but it has to be done.

Once it's finished, I can go about working on the other features that have been requested. The vast majority of which are substantially less complex than building an idiot-proof UI for custom quests, and all of the back-end work it entails.

There's no reason I couldn't log in on a daily basis, to keep everyone up to date and rea**ured, but there comes a point where I have nothing new to say, and I don't like to make the same old excuses.

It is for this reason that I've disappeared from chat for weeks at a time. I simply don't want to come back empty handed. You've all been very patient, but the patience is starting to wear a little thin, and with good reason.

However, this situation isn't new to me, and it won't be the last time this happens. Every so often, something appears to stall development, patience wears thin, we have a little mutiny, then the feature is released and things start to return to normal again. It must be at least the 4th interval of this unending cycle.

In summary: I'm still here; I'm not going anywhere; my weak online presence is not a symptom of disinterest, but of guilt; I'm almost finished and we can move onto something more interesting for the game; your patience has been far beyond my expectations; and lastly, don't think this is a sign of anything other than an unfortunate (but not new) stall of development due to a feature that has taken longer than expected.

I appreciate the reply CK, and I've thought that you don't show up around here because you had nothing to say, but that is one of the main reasons why faith is lost... because we only see inactivity from our creator. Godfather coming around was good for us, and he disappeared again too.

But you need help CK, that's probably a big reason why it takes a while. You're Frodo Baggins, CK, and you don't want anyone else to touch the ring, because it's your burden. Goodguy Samwise Gamgee offers to share the load of the ring, but you decline it. In the end, Frodo couldn't have done it without Sam, so maybe you need a Sam. (smiley)

At the very least, don't ate  yourself from us just because you have nothing to show for your work. The majority of us have no idea about coding and how hard it actually is, so if you tell us it's taking a long time to finish, we won't understand why... use that to your advantage (smiley)

I agree - The one thing that p**ses me off the most is when someone says somehting is going to get done and is done and sets a date and then doesnt deliever and then goes inactive because they know they should not have said anything at all in the 1st place. (sorry for the long sentence lol )

Even though you have nothing to say its still nice to have ya in chat and on to show you do care and still have interest. Beating around the bush does not get anyone anywhere. Just be honest with us ..that is all we ask for.....

LIke i said CK I love ya man but hell im tired and I know others are tired of nothing being implemented. I for one would rather see More items, eliminate level caps on npcs and Skills and the guilds being fixed before a quest maker.

IM really glad though to see you respond and not delete the thread. It does show ya care which i kn ow ya do but ya have a weird way to show all of us ya do and going inactive is not the way to do so (smiley)

TY Ck  for the response and the honesty (smiley) Thats I ask for. (smiley)
