I'm working on the part of the Item Maker that lets you create instances of the item specs you've created. It will cost Credits for each one made, and they'll be dropped into your backpack.

Aside from spawning them directly, you can use the item specs as Vendor NPC stock, or NPC treasure.

The thing about NPC Treasure is, there's a drop chance, so the rate can be controlled. Perhaps Vendor NPCs will have a stock remaining throttle which replenishes over time. I'm not sure yet.

But, spawning items directly doesn't have any such throttle at the moment. Perhaps it should do. Items with a high quality rating might not even be possible to spawn, for this very reason.

I'll have to decide precisely which quality ratings are allowed, and which are banned. Does anyone have any suggestions about this problem?

A way to limit how many instances you want to directly place into your backpack would be to make it cost points. It's much easier to just place them in your backpack after all, so this should be much more expensive. Possibly from Legendary onward, you cannot place the item in your bag, you can only "Raid" for that item.

When you say Vender NPCs... Do you mean I can crreate an item then stock it in the Armoury then get credits for each thing sold?

Not the Armoury initially, but actual interactive NPCs on your maps. You will be able to create a map (which might be a street corner, or the interior of a shop), and drop a Vendor NPC onto it.

You can then tell it to sell your items directly from the item spec. What I mean is, rather giving items from your backpack to the NPC, you actually just specify the item spec itself, plus a price.

All item specs have what is currently called a "make cost", which is the price you pay to create an instance of it in the game. This is the price you will pay when you use the Spawn Items page.

On your Vendor NPC, you choose the item to sell, and set a price. I'm leaning more towards a system where you just provide a profit margin. e.g. If you set the profit margin to 10%, the price that a customer will pay is Make Cost + (10% of Make Cost), with that 10% going into your Temp Storage as profit!

I hope I explained that well enough. It's actually quite a simple premise.
