hmmm...... thats strange. ever since i started playing this game, everyone has told me 25K. there were a few exceptions, but i figured they were just greedy. oh well, i still say any more than 25K is too steep. i mean, think about it, you do 1,000 attacks and it gives you 100 points. they are already hard enough to get, so you raise the value of EACH INDIVIDUAL point by 5K? thats a bit ridiculous (no offense). i mean, at 30,000 a piece you can only buy 33 points for a million credits compared to 40 at 25K. now lets compare those on a larger scale. noone would ever buy this many points i know, but just as a scale, 100,000,000 credits = 3,333 points at 30,000 a piece. 100,000,000 credits = 4,000 points at 25,000 a piece.
i'll buy from the guy selling at 25K a piece ![]()
again, no offense intended dogmeat.
that's like saying, gold is so rare, it should be cheap
besides, the intrinsic value of a point is much higher than even 30k, considering the points' uses
at one point (pardon the point pun, and all the alliteration and a**onance
when I first joined, points were around 35k each and and mobius, who usually bought lower than everybody else, *only* bought at 30k per point
at one point, we had a lot of people join, increasing the availability of points and therefore lowering their market value to 25k each, but it has risen again
now, people who sell points for 25k each are generally newbies who
a) don't know the price of points
and
b) are selling the points to buy items when they don't realize it'd be cheaper for them to use the points in the trade block to buy the items off of somebody else
Besides, having to divide 100,000 credits to 33,333 to get the result of 3 points is off-limits for anyone. Such an operation has no Math ethic whatsoever.
And, Dogmeat - face it, if the price was another one in another round... remember we're in round 4 -> 5 at the moment.
Another thing: your phrase of 'having to consider gold cheap since it's difficult to get' just doesn't make any sense. It's a market study rule - the offer and the demand are directly proportional. So if you have a big demand for points (selling or buying), then you have a big offer for points as well. And you cannot keep exorbitant prices up, since, even if points are hard to get, there are a lot of offertants.
------------
If you want to discuss the right value of points on the FRP market, I think a separate thread would be more adequate.
Dogmeat, didn't I give everyone points as various rewards/gifts?
The point economy was increased by about 70% when I did that. Since then, points have started to become rare again, which is the way it should be.
I personally think that attacking 1,000 players is rather hard, because it takes effort.
30k Cr per point makes sense to me.
If you want to upgrade something and you need 400 points, it's 12mil. If it was 25k Cr per point, it would be 10mil, right? Well, 2 million credits more isn't so bad to me.
As long as the price is between 25k and 50k, I think it's acceptable.
When it crosses 50k, it's simply not justifiable. Any less than 25k and its far to cheap, considering the efforts involved.
The point selling page will put this matter to rest once and for all. I'm interested to see what it comes up with
EDIT:
Forger, I believe he is talking about the start of Round 4, before I injected extra points to get the price to drop a bit

Hmmm... no idea - I guess I wasn't around then.
But the point market page will be indeed welcomed. You'd have to go with the flow, otherwise you won't be able to make any transactions.
