press
"Print Screen"
on the keyboard and then paste or CTRL + V in paint..

If you are on windows, you can download something called 'purrint' which saves screenshot straight to a jpg or png file when you press printscreen.

I haven't tried it in vista, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
