Not a huge deal or anything, more curiosity..

When I attack, or when someone adds me as an ally/enemy and in emails and the forum) my avatar is being resized (which I'd expect), however the aspect ratio is off, which makes it look a little odd.

I would have expected it to just do an overall resize, but it seems as though it shrinks it down vertically to a certain point, and then shrinks it all down.

For example, my avatar is 253px × 432px.

When I attack, it's scaled to 230px × 240px.

I guess the question is, is there an ideal ratio for images so they don't shrink down weird, or is there a way to ensure that it scales uniformly?

I change it all of the time, and most places will do cropping scales soon.

However, the optimum at the moment is a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Something like 380x380.

I used to respect the aspect ratio of avatars, but one some pages, it looks better to force them into a box of a fixed size. Cropping scales would make it prettier. I already have something like that on another site I run. I'll port it over at some point.
