When a character turns 0% in an attack, it means he/she is defeated, right?

After I attacked one character, he turned 0% but was still able to fight back.

Maybe he's got some help from his tribe

Sometimes they have 0.x% hp left, and you just can't see it on the page.

Maybe the character undead lol
