I was wondering why I am stuck on the first part, I have completed the quest for the map from the guy in the bar, been to every area and I am unable to leave the opening part, no links to anywhere else, any ideas? otherwise this is going to be a very boring game if that is all there is to this.

World maps are new. That's not all there is. Some games don't even have a map system and get along fine.
