Well I just got done discussing this with a few people in chat and I was told I should throw it up here so CK can throw his input in.

I think there should be more even raid times. For example, I don't think guild raids should be 24 hours when boss raids are a max of 6. I think they should be equal. I mean logistically what is the difference? I think that raid times should be equalized with Guild Raid times coming down, and NPC raid times coming up to a Max of 12 hours for both. It was suggested that the number of turns invested into starting the raid should directly increase or decrease the raid time depending on the number of turns used to start the raid. 1000 turns max was suggested, and I think 1000 turns should buy you 12 hours to form your raid against either an NPC or a Guild.

The short 6 hour raid time frame for NPC's really penalizes guilds that have a wide variety of players from all different time zones. I just don't think the diversity of the player base should be penalized in such a way. Honestly I think they should all be 24 hours max, but as a compromise I think 12 hours would be fair. That would cover any amount of time that people may be asleep no matter what part of the world they live in and allow them to be a part of a raid, and allow guilds with diverse player bases to be able to call all hands on deck for a major raid.

What ya think CK?

I don't remember why it was changed to 6 hours to raid a boss but i think maybe the time can be increased to 12 hours.

With new stronger  bosses out there , there is no way new items are going to get distributed becasue no one can get guild members to join a raid in that time frame when everyone that plays this game lives in all different time zones.

12 hour boss raids could be a special raid that costs more turns to setup ( currently its 300 turns ) maybe bump up to 500 or 600 turns to start it.

Also with the factor of the drop rate - items are going to stay on strong bosses forever.

Currently we don't raid a lot of the big bosses now because the time frame is not good.

I can't even remember it being 12 hours. I think that's only for GvG. (smiley)

If we make the time longer, raids that once required planning to mobilise guild members will become much less strenuous. This is both good and bad. I'm not against discussing it though. My official response at the time of this response is: I'm not entirely sure about this, and every time I think about it, it makes me wonder whether I could kill two birds with one stone and do this alongside more general raid-related improvements.

While I an understand it watering down the strategy aspect of raiding. I do think you have to take into consideration the fact that with the difference in time zones there are times that some players are on from across the globe that you might never be online with during the same 6 hour time frame. I think it would be silly for guilds to have to try and "mobilize" forcing people who live in different time zones to have to wake up at 3 am to join a raid or something similar.

I think if Guild Raids and Boss Raids had a 12 hour max that is plenty of time over all time zones to allow people to join them during their normal waking  hours. While still preserving a small amount of the strategy needed to create these raids at an optimal time.

Time allowed for guild raids is too high, time allowed for monster raids is too low. Don't see the problem with making an easy fix and setting both to twelve...

Is this still an issue?

I dont see the point in making raid times ( & therefore respawn) times any longer than they are. Could be argued that they should come down if anything!!

There are only so many raids & in an active guild doing a raid day, you do actually run out of raids until they respawn
